SHEFFIELD
ALCOHOL
RESEARCH
GROUP

The Sheffield Alcohol Research Group is an international centre of excellence for public health research on alcohol and tobacco.

Our research plays a central role in current policy and public debate.

In particular, our Sheffield Alcohol Policy Model has provided a key evidence base for debates around minimum unit pricing, brief interventions and low risk drinking guidelines in the UK and internationally.

We welcome invitations to collaborate with researchers, supervise PhD students or provide consultancy services and advice to stakeholders and the media.

We have particular expertise and interest in alcohol and tobacco research across the following areas:

Health inequalities

Trends and patterns in behaviour and health outcomes

Policy analysis, evaluation and appraisal

Cost-effectiveness modelling

Consultancy
